    Jeajoon Ryu studied composition under Krzysztof Penderecki and Kang, Suk-hi. 
    This work ‘Sonata per violoncello e pianoforte’ was commissioned by Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern gGmbH. Li-Wei Qin (cello) and Bart van de Roer (piano) performed this work at the festival on 13th Aug, 2011 as world premiere. The work is consisted of four movements which are Breeze, Romance, Fugue and Finale. The first movement, a soft breeze blowing on a lake in the upper register of the cello was trying to express in poetic, second movement was the love song of old memories. The short fugue-Third movement- show charmingly interesting conversation with cello and piano, the finale painted peaceful family in the warm cabin which gathered in the dim evening.
